Actor Jack Mulcahy confirmed in an online interview with Robert Dunne that the name "Rem Lezar" was created by writer/director Scott Zakarin as a combination of "R.E.M." sleep and a tweak of the word "laser".
The second title to be inducted into Red Letter Media's Best of the Worst Hall of Fame, along with Surviving Edged Weapons (1988) and actor Cameron Mitchell. The induction was not done on the episode where the video was featured, but on Wheel of the Worst #19 (2019).
