When the producers were looking for technicians to work on the movie, several trade publications including "Daily Variety" refused to run the "help wanted" ads until the word "fart" was removed from the ad copy. The ads were accepted only after the title was changed to "Windbreakers".

Dozens of professional technicians (and actors) were eager to work on this film, but only if their names were changed in the credits. The producers claimed that their telephone was swamped with dozens of calls from women who absolutely loved the concept of the film, and offered to work on it for free.

One of the panelists in the "Bong Show" segment of the film was played by an actor named Conrad Brooks, who also appeared in several Ed Wood films. While working on F.A.R.T. the Movie, Conrad smiled and told its producer, "now I've had the privilege of working on the two worst films of all time: "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and "F.A.R.T.".
