The film was earlier titled " Ibaadat" and had Jackie Shroff in Aditya Pancholi ' s role.
After Jackie Shroff exited the film, Sanjay Dutt was signed. He also left the film.
Vinod Khanna and Naseerudin Shah were to do the role which later Aditya Pancholi did. They all of them backed out due to unknown reasons. Then later the director of the film, Shashilal Nair, left the film. He had several differences with the producer. The film was incomplete and the producer Padmini Kapila changed the title and completed the film.
Due to financial and legal matters, Padmini Kapila did not release the film in Bombay.
The film was delayed for 2 years.
