The film accidentally became lost for many years after the vault that held the negative suffered a fire and Bert Williams' personal print was stolen when his storage unit was robbed. Thankfully, a 35mm print was found at an abandoned theatre in New York.
The punk band The Cramps named one of their songs after the film. In the chapter "Altkultur" in the 1996 book "Rolling Stone's Alt-Rock-A-Rama", the film is #1 on the list "The Cramps' Top Ten Sexploitation Movies."
Williams' children were on set many days after school due to the fact that he and Peggy both worked on the film. His 6-year-old daughter helped tape dailies together when Bert viewed them on a flatbed editor on set.
Newspaper ads from 1966 feature the boast: "Voted Primitive Art Action Film of the Year".
The film is part of Nicolas Winding Refn's restoration project called byNWR.
