Jaden Korr's name was originally meant to be Atton Rand. The character Atton Rand was instead added to the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords (2004).
The character of Jaden Korr was originally meant to be a human male but Lucas Arts decided to have a variety of choices to customize the character's decision and appearance. So the many compositions are possible.
The last game of the series, Jedi Academy is also the first game of the series not to have a level set on Nar Shaddaa, the notorious "Smuggler's Moon". Kyle Katarn visited Nar Shaddaa midway through the original "Dark Forces", at the beginning of "Jedi Knight", and early in Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. The omission was likely because the setting was similar to that for Coruscant, seen for the first time since "Dark Forces".
