Trivia

United

Edit
Arne Scheie, playing the narrator, is actually one of Norway's most beloved sports commentators.
Håvard Lilleheie, who plays a Manchester United supporter is actually a big Liverpool fan. He said that to be able to play the part he had to keep saying "Anthony Hopkins does not eat human beings," to himself over and over again, referring to Anthony Hopkins' roles in The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Hannibal (2001) and Red Dragon (2002).
At the beginning of the movie, when Kåre is about 10 years-old, he is frozen out from his soccerteam, as he supported Manchester United. The junior team's coach claims they support Liverpool FC. This was actually something Håvard Lilleheie demanded, as he himself is a huge fan of Liverpool FC. He claimed he needed someone in the movie to support Liverpool.
The narrator, played by Arne Scheie, was originally not intended for his part. The crew had a copy of the film, with Håvard Lilleheie narrating. However, they felt that it didn't quite work out, and they casted Arne Scheie.
'Håvar Lilleheie' practiced the dialect used in the film for 6 months.
