Raj Kapoor's son Rajiv Kapoor and Divya Rana, were introduced in this movie which is also Rajiv Mehra's first film as director and one of the first movie of Anu Malik his first major banner.
During the shooting in Port Blair, many locals ignored Rajeev Kapoor thinking he was a some distant relative of the Kapoor khandaan who resembled Shammi Kapoor. But the minute Rajeev spoke up and stated he was the son of the great Raj Kapoor, the entire islands attitude changed towards him. He was granted free meals, access to disco's and unlimited phone privileges.
When Rajeev Kapoor entered the film's premiere, he heard the entire hall whistling and cheering. Feeling very happy and proud he waved at everyone. Within a few moments he discovered the crowd cheering was not for him, but Anil Kapoor who had just entered the premiere. His film Woh 7 Din had just released and became a hit.
Rajiv Kapoor signed the film with the condition that he would personally select the heroine. Once Divya Rana was selected she stated she could not stand Rajiv at first. He was a sloppy eater and was not handsome like Rishi Kapoor. She even stated she did not know Raj Kapoor had a third son.
