The second fully computer generated theatrical movie produced in-house by Disney, rather than being hand-drawn, the first one being Dinosaur (2000). This would be the new style for every Disney animated theatrical movie afterwards, apart from The Princess and the Frog (2009) and Winnie the Pooh (2011).
A sequel called "Chicken Little 2: The Ugly Duckling Story" was in production when John Lasseter was appointed Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. His first task was to cancel all sequels.
