The luxurious homes that the main characters lived in were actually full-furnished show houses in North Dallas.
Prior to filming, the producers flew C. Thomas Howell to town to play golf and see if he was right for the part. Decked out in sideburns and a '70s haircut for the part he was filming at the time, he never thought he would be cast. The producers gave him the starring role anyway.
