Trivia

Astro Boy

Edit
Whereas the character of Professor Ochanomizu had his name changed to "Dr. Elefun" in most American retellings of the Astro Boy saga, this series instead calls him "O'Shea", a well-known Irish name which happens to sound like an abbreviation of his original Japanese name.
Besides Dr. Oshey, the only character to have a name change is Zoran. In the English version of the 1960s TV series, she was called Astrogirl, and Uran in the Japanese version. She was called Uran in the 1980s both English and Japanese versions as well.
In Japan, the series had a 16:9 aspect ratio. However, the English dub was cropped in 4:3.
First full fledged Astro Boy series of the Heisei era.
Based on series a Japanese manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka. It was serialized in Kobunsha's Shounen from 1952 to 1968. The 112 chapters were collected into 23 tankobon volumes by Akita Shoten. Dark Horse Comics published an English translation in 2002.
