Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka (2003)

Trivia

Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka

Edit
The Master was voiced by Derek Jacobi, who later played another version of the Master in Utopia (2007).
David Tennant, who provides the voice of the Caretaker (although uncredited in this production), was later chosen to play the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who (2005).
Was envisaged as a pilot, an alternative way to bring back Doctor Who, with Richard E. Grant as the Ninth Doctor (though no mention is made of his predecessors). When a new television series was announced in 2003 (for airing 2005), this plan was abandoned and the new series featured a definitive Ninth Doctor. Plans for a DVD release of this animated feature were subsequently cancelled, as were plans for follow-up adventures featuring Grant as The Doctor.
Richard E. Grant previously played an alternate Tenth Doctor in Comic Relief: Doctor Who - The Curse of Fatal Death (1999).
Russell T. Davies declined to put Richard E. Grant on a list of candidates to star in Doctor Who (2005) because of his dislike for this series. He said, "I thought he was terrible. I thought he took the money and ran, to be honest. It was a lazy performance. He was never on our list to play the Doctor."
