Divoké pivo (1995)

Trivia

Divoké pivo

Edit
Filming began in 1993, but after financial difficulties it was not resumed until 1995. Actors Jára Kohout and Antonín Jedlicka and composer Jirí Sust did not live to see the premiere.
Many of the actors never got paid for this comedy, which was plagued by many production problems and completely flopped in theaters.
Jaroslava Hanusová, who played policeman Emánek's domineering mother, was actually only one year older than Jirí Lábus, who played Emánek, and the actors were lifelong friends since childhood.
Although not stated in the credits, the film is a loose adaptation of Karel Storkán's satirical novel. It was published in 1992 under the title "Moji milí fóristé aneb Divoké pivo" ("My Dear Forerunners or Wild Beer").
The Regent brewery, which is the oldest in the Czech Republic (founded in 1379), where a substantial part of the setting took place, also sponsored the film. Filming took place mostly at night so as not to interfere with the production of beer.
