Ed Harris, Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel, and Amelia Warner in Winter Passing (2005)

Trivia

Winter Passing

Edit
The kitten playing Spike was found in an animal shelter and saved from being put to sleep. It was adopted by a producer's brother.
The person posing as Reese's mother in the pictures on the wall is Zooey Deschanel's real-life mother, Mary Jo Deschanel. She also played Ed Harris's wife in The Right Stuff (1983).
The piano song played in the end of the film is "Bittersuite," composed by Zooey Deschanel.
In this film, Zooey Deschanel played the daughter of a reclusive author, much like J.D. Salinger. Deschanel was named after the character in the Salinger novel, "Franny and Zooey."
The protagonist in J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye" was named Holden Caufield. Like Don Holden (Ed Harris), Salinger lived as a recluse in his later years.
