Poonam Dhillon, Rishi Kapoor, and Tina Ambani in Yeh Vaada Raha (1982)

Trivia

Yeh Vaada Raha

Edit
Being one of the first films to use the formula of plastic surgery in it, they could employ two actresses to play the same character. Poonam Dhillon played the original character and Tina Ambani posed for the one after her face is changed due to plastic surgery. To maintain consistency in the voice of the character though, that does not change due to plastic surgery; they did not use the voice-over of either of the two actresses. Jaya Bachchan dubbed for the character throughout.
Raj Kapoor told Rishi Kapoor he loved the film but wished they used only 1 heroine in the film. The second heroine could have used special make up artiste to look different. When 2 heroines were used it no longer looked believable to the audience. The emotional connect was now gone.
Based on Danielle Steele's novel "The Promise".
Photograph from this film in the song Yeh Vada Raha was later used in Yeh Hai Jalwa 2002 which Salman Khan gets as a proof to show Rishi Kapoor that he had married his mother Poonam Dhillon.
Tu Tu Hai Wahi Dil Ne Jise (Yeh Vaada Raha)...The distinctive sound followed by the two claps in this song is of a tongue clicking. The bass guitar was played by Tony Vaz, the whistle was Manohari Singh's and the mandolins were played by Ravin Sundaram and Kishore Desai.
