These Stars Are on the Rise

Pepín, Pepe's little son, is a gifted child who, despite his young age, develops a new magical drink more powerful than Vampisol, which he calls Vampiyaba because it is made from guava. Mobsters, vampires, Soviet spies and even a Nazi commando arrive in Cuba in search of this new drink and its creator. So Pepe has to save his son, his marriage from failure and his club, Pepito's, from ruin. But when everything seemed to be lost, Von Dracula returned from his afterlife and reestablished the new world vampires order.

Eighteen years later, Juan Padron brings us another vampiric tale featuring Pepito and Lola, this time during the Second World War. After all this time, this sequel has more polished animation and designs, and even some CGI, but still retains the same underground charm from the original film, even if at first glance the plot might seem a bit more sanitized, now that Pepito is a family man and due the inclusion of his son as one of the main characters, almost giving the impression this is going to be like one of those offspring-focused Disney sequels. Fortunately, the story and the characters still hasn&#39;t lost its wild side, still having a healthy dose of dark comedy and politically incorrect irreverence. While I still prefer the first movie, this sequel is also worth-watching, and just as deserving of a cult status as its predecessor. Though I must say I prefer Smiley&#39;s design from the first movie; here that character looks barely recognizable. 6.5/10.

Outstanding performances by some of the most popular actors and musicians in Cuba now a days. The story describes the life of Pepito 10 years after he sang the formula for Vampisol on the international radio and throughout the world, now a new formula has been created by the name of vamps-yaba, used by some evil vampires to create world disorder during world war II without the consent and knowledge of Pepito. Jorge Perugorrea lent his voice to a new character called Capitán Dumigrón and Luis Alberto García plays Heminway. You&#39;ll also enjoy the music created for this film with songs such as &quot;El Führer tiene la llave&quot; y &quot;Thriller Tropical&quot;.
