An anime with a lot of potential that ended up being very poorly materialized

If there is something positive that I can say about this film, it is the voice acting that seemed respectable to me and the story did not seem bad to me, but it is a pity that I cannot say the same about the animation and visual quality. In fact, I think this movie would have done much better if it had been made by Japanese animators or a more professional studio. The character design passes in some scenes, but they deserved better development. Another flaw that I noticed in this movie is that they tried to infantilize it. I say this because the story suited more for an animated action movie and even more for trying to make it anime. In fact, some elements that characterize anime are action, serious moments, and deep plots. The bad thing is that it seems that they reduced those elements in this movie to give it the tone of a children's movie that it has and that doesn't fit very well with the plot and image that they tried to give to this movie because I think that with those elements it would have been much better and maybe I would have overlooked the animation and quality. I feel that this film deserved a better development, structure, treatment and team because the story has a potential that was wasted and poorly captured. In conclusion, Bolívar El Héroe is a film with good potential that was wasted and an interesting proposal that was poorly achieved and developed. I always say that the plot and concept matter more than the animation or drawing style, but even the animation and drawing style also deserve some treatment and the truth is that it seems that this film was made without passion or desire and I think that that's why this came out. Typical case of doing something just for money or marketing or ratings without taking into account what can go wrong, so no wonder people didn't like this movie because to be honest it's a bad animated movie that could have been better and unfortunately its interesting plot does not save it from being what it is now. In short, a bad animated movie with an interesting story that deserved better and that's why I rate it 5/10. If it's any consolation it's that this movie is now considered cult, so I guess that's at least something.

    If I could give this a 0 I would

I started watching this film knowing it was bad, but I thought maybe it would be so bad it's good.

    I WAS WRONG!

The animation has lots of errors and it looks really awful. The dialogues are stupid, it looks like a movie that a teacher would show you in elementary school, and it isn't even a bit entertaining, it's just garbage, don't watch it.

One of the Worst Films of all Time

    Animation: 1/10

The Animation is the worst part of the film, it trying to copy anime, but it fails in so many levels, the movements are limited and the designs are ugly, it looks like it was made by a kid in Flash

    Characters: 2/10

The characters are so forgettable and boring, you don't remember any of them (except the protagonist Simon Bolivar) because they don't have any personality or they don't give them any development, example, there are characters like Maria Teresa del Toro, that they introduce us and then they don't give her any screen time or personality, that's ow bad the characters are

    Story: 1/10

It's the story of the life of Simon Bolivar, there is nothing wrong about that, the problem it's the execution, with terrible dialogue and scenes that don't have any purpose on the plot

    Music: 1/10

The music of this movie is forgettable or uninspired

Conclusion: This is one of the worst movies of all time, the only good things about this films is that is so bad that many people consider it funny, and the voice acting is not terrible but it still bad

Result: 1/10 "an example of how not to make a movie about a historical character"

    pure canine excrement

awful, garbage, trash, excrement, a total waste of film and ink. Easily the worst so-called "animated film" I've ever seen. Avoid at all costs. If you were foolish enough to rent it, demand your money back, no, demand double your money back! I really don't have anything else to say about this garbage film, but will just add that it appears to have been made as cheaply as possible, without any thought or care, possibly funded by drug cartels, or at least corrupt politicians. This might be instructional as a lesson in how NOT to make an animated (or any other kind) of film. I feel sorry for anyone who paid more than 2 cents to rent or view this piece of junk. But hey, this is just my opinion. I'm sure someone out there loves this piece of dog do-do.

    Amazingly animated

A surprisingly well animated, designed and drawn film. An animated masterpiece.
