The original stage set that was shown on Family Classics (1962) is now on display in the Museum of Broadcasting and Communications in Chicago, Illinois.
The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) was the most shown movie on Family Classics. It was shown twenty-one times during Family Classics run. Moby Dick (1956) comes in 2nd at 16 times. And Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) had 15 viewings. The Littlest Hobo (1958) was shown only four times. But remains a fan favorite.
Family Classics was brought back for one show on Dec. 8, 2017 to show the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol (1951) under the original title Scrooge. Dean Richards was the host for this event. Since this viewing Family Classics is now being shown as special broadcasts.
