Roscoe's House of Chicken n Waffles

As far as I am concerned, this is artistic genius. I don't use this word very often, but this was breathtaking. The way in which the movie was made was excellent. Wonderful cinematography and one of the best overall performances by a whole cast ever seen, I am appalled that the people on this website disliked it. I gave it a perfect TEN. That is just an understatement. The greatest thing ever, do not miss this one if you have the opportunity. I used to think you couldn't beat Gone with the Wind. But this movie leaves it in the dust. Roscoe's Chicken n Waffles is a heartwarming tale, one you will never forget. Who would? This film perfectly depicts the historic restaurant and what it has done for the country. After you see it, you want to go to Roscoe's. I had the privilege and honor of eating fried chicken there. The greatest thing I have ever eaten. Just do it. You will never forget it, and I mean never.

This is perhaps the worst movie I've seen this century. Of course, this statement does not carry the same meaning as if I had uttered it 4 years ago, but the sentiment is there. The gist of the movie could have made a workable small film, but the writing is absolutely abhorrent. The jokes mostly miss, the plot flows like a glacier; very slowly, then it collapses entirely. There are some decent actors. I cannot blame them. The problem lies in the writing and directing. I would have expected better from any film student, quite frankly. There are useless subplots, and characters which would have added to the movie by their subtraction from it.

I love this restaurant and go anytime I'm in LA. When I saw this film on the shelf - I had to rent it ... and boy was I glad I did! They really did a great job of capturing the warm, homey atmosphere that goes on in this mad-cap establishment that has the best food in town....

I recommend this movie to anyone who like to eat... or laugh!

I'm a fan of the real Roscoe's House of Chicken 'N Waffles and this movie really lays an egg. RHoCnW is a weak story about a NYC numbers runner who heads

to L.A. to rescue Roscoe and his restaurant. Numerous subplots without

motivation come and go throughout the movie. Bad jokes are made worse by

belaboring them instead of moving on to another scene. With some script

doctoring this might have been a decent small film. There are way too many

characters vying for attention in the film. The acting quality is erratic, though a few actors seem to have talent and make what they can of the roles. The actor playing Shaunte is not only hot, but she can act! I wouldn't mind seeing more of her in other roles.

That girl on the page as PAM, my character, is NOT me! Paul and Kennedy, you both need to be ashamed of yourselves! I am Monique Desiree who acted in this film as PAM aka the nutcracker. You never paid me in full! I shouldn't even care because it's a poor film, but it was my first. Horrible experience. This lady is not me! Get her face off my name! I'm truly appalled. Here I am 46 years old now and you both still have no class or tact. I wish I could sue you, I would, but is it even worth it???
