Bud Lee keeps the story simple for this Sin City feature spotlighting that great star of yesteryear Dee. It might be used as ammunition by the conventional thinkers who criticize Lee's work, but I found merit in its simplicity.
A group of old friends gradually assemble at the home of Christie Lee and Scott Styles, to attend the funeral for Dee's late husband. Lee omits the actual funeral, focusing instead on the sequential arrival of the mourners and their having reunion sex with each other.
This simple structure gives the feature an odd combination of seriousness and the usual "get on with the XXX" aspect of porn. No sooner is each couple introduced then they briefly fill in the blanks on their characters and get down to what comes naturally. In his director's commentary track Lee muses about having sex with his exes (which include the superstars Hyapatia Lee and Asia Carrera) and while he doesn't kiss and tell, he makes it clear that this slight movie does have a personal resonance.
Euro import Mandy Bright brightens up the movie, though playing her ex is an exceedingly wooden T.J. Cox. After an introductory softcore shower scene for her fans, Dee gets to hump old pal Holly Hollywood and later have a threesome with her hosts Christie & Scott, I guess a surefire way to cheer someone up after she's attended her husband's funeral.
Trevor Zen gets to hump old flame Rayveness, curiously billed here as "Brittney Noel", while Barrett Blade is a waste of time also getting to f*ck Holly.
