Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors (1994)

Trivia

Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors

Edit
This is the only game where the general 1P Arcade Mode is slightly more difficult than the other notably with Pyron whose fireballs turn into small geysers upon touching, resulting in it being toned down in Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge (1995) to make these fights slightly easier.
This is the only game where the Super Moves are used with a Special Bar that slowly drains after being filled. One of the improvements in Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge (1995) was making it a Super Meter bar that works similar to the other competitive Capcom games such as Street Fighter.
Only game to show the character's species during the versus screen spot prior to the match starting.
Out of the 12 original characters (which also includes the boss characters Huitzil and Pyron who were boss characters in this game and did not become fully playable until Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge (1995)), only Demitri Maximoff, Lord Raptor, Bishamon, Anakaris, Victor von Gerdenheim, Felicia and Morrigan Aensland appeared in all five primary Darkstalkers games. In the original arcade release of Darkstalkers 3 (1997) both Huitzil and Pyron (along with Donovan Baine from the second game) were cut. In Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire (1997) in exchange for including those three characters that were cut from the original, Sasquatch, Jon Talbain, and Rikuo were cut from the updated version.
