La Madrastra review

Well i'm seen right now this wonderful soap here in Puerto Rico and i should say it's fantastic the way the have handled the mystery of the assassin of Patricia.Plus the soap it's well written even though the first 2 weeks was very slow but after it quickly get more and more interesting and in every episode you get know secrets of each character. The cast is really good especially Ana Layevska(Estrella),Eduardo Capetillo(Leonel) and the little kids that appear in this program.Victoria Ruffo(María) here cries a lot but she stills gives a great performance as well as Cesar Evora(Esteban). The villains is a mixed bag,we have great villains like Jacqueline Andere(Alba)and most of the women here but at the same time we have Rene Casados with his cartoon villain and the bad actor Sergio Mayer. All in all this is really a soap worth seeing.

The major conflicts make it attractive...

In Albania, we are now watching the 70th part of the serial "La Madrastra" and although the movie is half away from the end, the major conflicts or themes seem to be largely unresolved. Of course, this is something that keeps everybody watching it on, but overall, I believe it is a very naive scenario. Nevertheless the casts are really good, and I find it understandable that in some cases the actors find it difficult to keep up with the weird flow of the story. Still, the major conflicts in the movie, such as the unknown mother, the unachieved love and the mysteries that each character holds, make the movie interesting. I am rarely interested in serials, but this one I find more as a drama. I think it is among the most interesting ones that I have ever seen and I encourage others to see it, also because it conveys some really good messages to the humans.

The best Telenovela ever made

To me, la Madrastra is the best telenovela ever, Spanish or English. It is so entertaining, the conflicts are very well made, the acting is great all around, its cheesiness and over-the-topness is also so much fun. Jacqueline Andere and Sabine Moussier make the show for me, since they are the best actors. They are so fun to watch, so are the rest of the villains, and pretty much the whole cast. This is an example of Spanish TV gone very right. It is so entertaining and you get so hooked into it. The fact that there is a mystery surrounding a woman and her murderer is great. You get really into who is the real killer. There are two versions of the novela, the 2005 one, and the one passed in 2007. Both killers are great, but I prefer the newer 2007 version because it has my favorite character as the villain.

It's actually a very bad soap opera (mala mala)

I watch at least one Mexican soap opera every year. This time I decided to see "La Madrastra" because it had a good cast (specially Jaqueline Andere, Cesar Evora and Ana Martin) and the plot seemed attractive. But ... what a disappointment!!! At the beginning, the story pretends to be somehow clever, but very very soon everything starts to fall short and it becomes too simplistic and ridiculous. After the first ten episodes I decided to watch it only once a week, but believe me, even that proved to be too much!! ... the same people are always having the same conversations and most of the characters have no credibility. If you know a little about Latin society/family you'd soon realize how poorly it's been adapted. Besides, the comedic characters are really stupid and unnecessary. I have to warn everybody: Try not to waste your time with this one!
