Puss in Boots (2011)

FAQ

Puss in Boots

FAQ

Yes. Puss is an orange tabby cat and Kitty is a tuxedo cat.

Puss N Boots is an animated fantasy adventure comedy western and a spin-off and prequel to Shrek, in which the Zorro-like Puss N Boots (Antonio Banderas), before he crossed paths with Shrek and Donkey, was an outlawed hero, seeking to clear his name, whom agrees to help Humpty Alexander Dumpty (Zach Galifianakski) his former friend who betrayed him and his accomplice Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) to steal magic beans from the notorious outlaws Jack and Jill (Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris) and break into the giant's castle and retrieve golden eggs and for Puss N Botts to clear his name.

No, the producers kept all the other Shrek characters out of the story to avoid storyline conflicts with the then in-production Shrek Forever After (2010). However, there is a possibility that in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022), more characters from the "Shrek" franchise will appear, as shown in the trailers where the Big Bad Wolf is one of the film's villains.
