When you are at the guard tower after being sucked down the whirlpool, there are two ways to get past the guard. One is to SLING ROCK AT GUARD assuming you got the jockstrap from your locker on Xenon 4 in which the guard will fall over. The other option is to walk behind the post of the tower when the guard is walking the other way. You can then either THROW ROCK or TALK TO GUARD. Either one will bring the guard down to the ground and he will leave the screen. Then you can go through the platform door. You would do the second option if you did not get the key card from the dead guard when you crashed on Labion.
There is a bug that will do two different things. When you are at the platform and walk behind the post to get past the guard, TALK TO GUARD to get him to come down and open the platform door. Before he wanders off, THROW ROCK (the rock you get from the pile of debris the Labion Terror Beast created). The guard will then begin walking to the top of the screen and stop on the first item he runs into, usually the tower itself. You can then walk through him before going through the door. The second thing is after you have thrown the rock, wait for the guard to run into something, then TALK TO GUARD again. You will be able to walk in one direction only, then stop when you run into something, and will have to restore to get back to an earlier point.
The character Roger Wilco ranked #5 in Computer Gaming World's November 1996 listing of the 15 most memorable game heroes.
One of the graffiti messages in the restroom at Vohaul's asteroid is "Ken was here! (So was Al, but we had to repaint afterward.)" - clearly referring to Ken Williams, the CEO of Sierra On-Line and Al Lowe.
Like in Space Quest, Chapter 1: The Sarien Encounter (1986), after the introduction the player is requested to enter his name. The default name is Roger Wilco, in case the player presses "Enter" instead of typing any name.
