I had the pleasure of seeing Kate - The Movie recently and was truly amazed with this work of art. Lione uses stop motion animation with all the characters and sets made from paper with vibrant, Mediterranean colours and the kind of style and craftsmanship one would expect from an Italian movie. The Shakespeare subject makes the movie much more international and the music by Juan Bacalov (son of Oscar winner Luis Bacalov) is wonderful. Anyone who likes animation should see this, and it is not only for kids! As far as I know, the movie is shown at almost every relevant film festival around the world and has even won the first prize for animation at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, where the jury are children - so they should know! Why has no distributor or broadcaster picked this wonderful movie up yet? Do they not go to these Festivals...?
