Anthony Sellers in The Crazies (2010)

FAQ

The Crazies

FAQ

No one has answered this question yet.

The Crazies is a remake of George Romero's 1973 horror film The Crazies (1973). The original movie was rewritten and adapted for this movie by screenwriters Scott Kosar and Ray Wright.

Not by the modern definition of "zombie" as popularized by films like George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968) (1968). This movie is about people who become dangerous maniacs when they drink from the local water supply. They are infected by a virus or pathogen in the water, but they do not eat any of their victims and (presumably) they can't infect anyone themselves. They can be killed in the same way as a normal, uninfected human being, and they are still living. On the other hand, some original accounts of the word "zombie" came from voodoo priests hypnotizing people into "zombie slaves". Nowhere is it said that zombie slaves can only be killed a certain way or need to eat living human flesh. Basically it comes down to how each viewer prefers to define a "zombie."

Mad World - Michael Andrews & Gary Jules. The song is also on the soundtrack of the 2001 film, Donnie Darko (2001).
