Trivia

The Fox and the Hound 2

Edit
It was the final film to use the opening "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" logo with a fantasy castle in the blue background after twenty-one years.
Reba McEntire (Dixie) and Vicki Lawrence (Granny Rose) recorded the hit song "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia". Lawrence in 1973, and McEntire in 1991.
Big Mama, Dinky, Boomer, and Squeaks never appeared, nor were ever mentioned by Todd, despite how they were around during Todd's youth in the first movie.
The cricket bears a resemblance to Squeaks, the caterpillar from the first movie.
Judging by the fact that the Grande Ole Opry is mentioned heavily by the characters, the film takes place in Tennessee; Grande Ole Opry is located in Nashville.
