Choose Your Own Adventure: The Abominable Snowman

Following a tradition of fun and magic dating back many years, Lean Forward Media has brought the first of an innovative series of books to life! I grew up reading many Choose Your Own Adventure books, and was excited beyond comment to learn that they are now being brought to DVD! Unlike traditional books, the Choose Your Own Adventure books put you in control of the action by calling on you to make choices throughout the story. After making a choice, you would turn to the corresponding page and read the result of your choice. This DVD continues in the tradition, bringing to life a very warmhearted version of the first of many reader involving stories, and the fact that the DVD is not quite as dark as the books tend to be makes it perfect for all ages! I commend Lean Forward in reviving yet another great tradition in children's' entertainment for a new generation!

It was a very clever movie. Multiple routes and endings to choose. The characters and voice acting was splended. I enjoyed it.

This DVD is fabulous for kids: it is based on the best-selling book series, Choose Your Own Adventure, and has a great plot line, terrific graphics, and voice overs by Felicity Huffman and William Macy among other top celebs. What I adored best is that it enables kids to pick what to do next about every 5 minutes: parachute from the plane or keeping going and hope the plane does not run out of gas? Kids have to use the DVD controller to pick, and fast. You get incredible insights into what your kids are thinking: and find yourself amazed that your child who you thought was afraid of taking risks decides to follow the Yeti footprints over staying on the trail. Love it, and with about a dozen different outcomes, this had my kids watching it for mesmerized, and then asking for it again the next morning! Definitely wins by thumbs up as a Mom.
