Sultaan (2000)

Trivia

Sultaan

Edit
Producer Ravi Anand wanted Ravi Tandon to direct a film titled "Sultan" (1978/1979) with Raaj Kumar in the title role co starring Sanjeev Kumar,Parveen Babi, Vidya Sinha Amjad Khan. A day before the film could be launched, Ravi was in for the shock of my life when Raaj Kumar walked in and showed him the dialogues and the camera movements for the various artistes in Sultaan written by Raaj Kumar. Ravi told Raaj on his face that no star had ever directed me or dictated to me and I had worked with the biggest stars-Manoj Kumar, Chintu, Amitabh, Jeetendra, Shatrughan Sinha and Sanjeev Kumar. Ravi told Raaj Kumar to direct the film himself and walked out of the project in disgust.
Bali Bhrahma Bhatt and Kavita Krishnamurti song "Soni Kudi Namkeen Badi" from Sultan, was originally recorded for the unreleased K.C. Bokadia movie Jane Tamanna. The song was released in Jane Tamanna's CD and audio cassettes. The song was inspired by Malkit Singh's song "Kurri Garam Jayee Kurri Garam Jayee" (Naram Jehi). Bally Sagoo's Wham Bam also has a remix of the song in "Star Mega Mix".
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia, Canada.
