Selected by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Fall 2006 to represent the country in the Foreign Language Film category at the 2007 Oscars. However, AMPAS determined that since Luxembourg's input had been primarily financial and not artistic, the film was therefore not eligible and was disqualified. The film was a majority Polish production (directed by a Poland-based Venezuelan director, set in Poland and Germany, filmed in Polish and German with a Polish lead actress). It had also appeared on Poland's Oscar shortlist that year, when it was beaten by Retrieval.
