The show's director, Joseph Orr, made some cameo appearances in it: he was the postal worker in Der Personalausweis (2005) and acted as director Steffen in Das Praktikum (2006) and driving examiner in Der Pusher (2009).
Since the first episode, there has been a mini model of the "Enterprise 1701 D" from the series "Star Trek - The Next Century" at the front of Bastian's red Saab.
The ringtone in Bastian's cell phone comes from the US series "24".
All the burping noises Bastian had to make in this series were added in post-production because he can't burp on command. Some of the burp sounds come from head author Chris Geletneky, but most of them come from Anke Engelke, who was called into the recording studio, especially for this task.
