FAQ

Penelope

FAQ

Born to a wealthy socialite family, Penelope Wilhern (Christina Ricci) is cursed to have the nose of a pig until she can find true love.

The film's screenplay was written by American film and television writer Leslie Caveny. The movie was subsequently novelized in 2007 by American children's book author Marilyn Kaye.

Viewers who have seen Penelope suggest The Princess Bride (1987) (1987), in which a princess is being forced to marry a prince she doesn't love, at the same time that her true love is fighting hard to free her. In Prince Charming (2001) (2001), a prince is turned into a frog until he can get a maiden to kiss and marry him. Although not a fairy tale, viewers of Penelope have recommended Amélie (2001) (2001) aka Amelie for its similar whimsy. Other recommendations include Big Fish (2003) (2003), The Price of Milk (2000) (2000), and Danny Deckchair (2003) (2003).
