The town of New Providence is in the Bahamas Islands.
In 1996, Intersal Inc, a private firm, discovered the remains of a vessel that was later determined to be Queen Anne's Revenge, which ran aground and sank after 1718. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The shipwreck was discovered off Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina. Bath North Carolina was the home of Blackbeard's 14th wife Mary Ormand.
The fight scenes were choreographed by the same choreographer that helped on Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior (2003) and The Protector (2005).
