This is the dubbed Hindi version of Malayalam film VAYANADAN THAMPAN (1978).
The film was released in theatres in August 1984, then quietly released onto video in 1995.
Joginder bought the Hindi dubbing rights from the south Indian producer then changed the film. Joginder shot scenes of himself playing the devil and inserted them into the original film. He then released it as "Pyaasa Shaitaan" making it look like a new original film when it was not.
Beena Bannerjee who did not act in the original south Indian version of the film. She was signed to enact one rape scene that was edited into the new dubbed Hindi film.
Kamal Haasan voice is dubbed by a dubbing artiste.
