    Saw the screener

I saw Graphic at the Mann's Chinese Theater and then I saw a new version while screening movies for another festival. I had been watching shorts all day that were mostly average in entertainment value. This movie was something different. I enjoyed it and it appeared there was a lot of time spent on it. The acting was very believable and the story kept me interested. The story is broken into pieces and it takes a few minutes to get into it but after you settle in it moves very well. The pacing and editing is right on. I visited the website and the backstory to the movie gave it another layer of intrigue. Not sure if it's true, but it was fun to read about. We selected it for our festival and it should be fun to see how it does.

Very Surprised to see something with intrigue

I caught this movie at the FAIF film festival in Hollywood. It was by far the best short I saw during the whole festival and I saw almost all of them. It has something to it that is hard to achieve in a short and that is intrigue. The acting was spot on and you just really felt like something could happen at any moment. The title has nothing to do with the content, and at first i assumed this was a horror film. I was wrong. It goes the opposite direction and that was nice to see. Kudos to whoever the DP was. Very interesting shots and composition that added another layer to the story. Anyways... good movie and I had a good time.

    Not a typical short film.

I'll keep this as succinct as I can, because as it is a short film, all I need is a couple sentences to express my thoughts. Graphic is definitely worth checking out. The movie is clever and refreshing. It is a completely unique idea, and the film moves fast. It left me not only thinking and questioning throughout, but wanting more. The acting is solid, and the characters believable. This is important because the film is driven completely by dialogue, if you want to understand it, you have to pay attention. Thankfully, the writing has a little flare, making it fun to follow. My only complaints about this movie are that it is a little hard to follow (so pay attention), and that the score is a bit over-dramatic. Otherwise, its a helluva little film.
