The series is produced in "Shadowmation", a technique that combines puppetry, animatronics and computer generated animation.
Many of these puppeteers come from Bear and the Big Blue House and The Book of Pooh, another show involving Shadowmation. Puppeteers include Aymee Garcia, Carol Binion, Jim Kroupa, James Godwin, Melissa Creighton, Julie Westwood's voice, and Eric Englehart.
The mountain near the World Tree bares a striking similarity to Pico de Neblina, the highest peak in Brazil. Therefore, it's safe to assume that the series takes place within the Amazon rainforest.
Most of the characters in the series require around three puppeteers to operate, aside from Snook (a full-body puppet).
