    Kind of Sweet

Frazier begins to realize that the years are creeping up on him. While in a department store he meets a pretty young sales clerk. She is half his age and is attracted to him. He is really torn because he thinks he may become the object of ridicule. The way this plays out is really touching and real. I thought the writing was very good and the characters, including the young woman, were well portrayed.

    Fortysomething

The whole point of this 'Frasier' spin-off was to develop the character further, and this episode does that very well, with the radio shrink left pondering whether he is actually attracted to a young sales clerk, or just having a midlife crisis.

There's lots of lovely moments here, and one thing I have enjoyed in these early episodes is how integral the Frasier/Martin relationship. That seemed to drift away a bit as the show went on, sadly.

It's not a loud and bombastic episode like some have been during the first series, there's no iconic scene, but for sheer heart and humour then this episode gets a big tick from me.

    • Trivia
Episodes when scenes at Nervosa are only at the small back section by the bookshelves usually indicate that the studio has to compromise on the standing sets to accommodate scenes that take place away from Frasier's home, office, or cafe. In this case the men's showroom and dressing room sets take up a lot of extra studio space which the Nervosa set must temporarily give way to.
    • Goofs
The book which Frasier selects from the coffee shop library disappears then reappears between shots.
    • Quotes

Dr. Frasier Crane: Niles, I'm 41. That's hardly middle-aged. Middle age is more like 50, 55.

Dr. Niles Crane: Only if you live to be 110.

    • Crazy credits
When the title "Frasier" and the usual silhouette of Seattle are on screen, several lights are being lit in the "windows" of the buildings.
