Hogan and his men nearly out-smart themselves

Klink is expecting a visit from General Von Platzen, the Inspector General, to review his work and staff at Stalag 13. When Platzen tells Klink that his prison camp is the model for others he decides to promote Klink to run all the Stalags in Germany. Hogan knows that if the camp gets a new Commandant then things might not go as well. So Hogan and his men try to discredit Klink hoping that his promotion will be denied.

But the Heroes actually out-smart themselves when their actions make Klink look so bad that the Inspector General is ready to arrest Klink. Hogan and his men must try to find a way to stop Platzen from reporting back to headquarters in Berlin.

As each character is still finding common ground, the episode appears rough compared to later shows. But overall this sets the tone for the series and lets the public begin feeling comfortable in the production. This is a script that will be repeated many times during the years, with this being the fourth episode, for most this was a new situation. Not the best story in the bunch but still entertaining.
