    The Gunslinger

Johnny Ringo ends up getting injured after he shoots dead Bill Brogger.

While the Doc operates on him. Johnny has flashbacks when he last encountered the Brogger brothers.

Frank Brogger had encountered Johnny Ringo and had to have his arm amputated.

Now Frank and his brothers have ridden in looking for revenge. Cully rounds up the townsfolk to defend Johnny.

It was interesting to see Johnny's days as an outlaw. When he is first injured a family takes care of him but the father tells him to leave when he finds out that it's Johnny Ringo and his daughter has the hots for him.

I would have thought Cully could had taken the baddies who rode to town on his own.

The great Harry Dean Stanton plays Frank Brogger.

    • Quotes

      [first lines]

William 'Cully' Charles Jr., Deputy: Say, Johnny, how about a little fishin' today?

Johnny Ringo: Not today - maybe tomorrow.

William 'Cully' Charles Jr., Deputy: Maybe tomorrow, huh? You've been sayin' that for two weeks now... Can't get Laura and Case off your mind, can you?

Johnny Ringo: You know, Cully, when I first came to Velardi, I had nothing, no one. They filled an emptiness I'd been carrying around in me most of my life.

William 'Cully' Charles Jr., Deputy: You've got a lot of friends, Johnny - the whole town.

Johnny Ringo: No... a friend is something you wear close to you. To these people I'm just a badge - someone they can tip their hats to and say, "Good morning, Sheriff," but that's all.
