Harm and Mac reach a crisis point - and get past it.

They are three years into their working relationship; they cannot even leave the Admiral's presence without walking into each other. Then they are tasked to a submarine which seems to have experienced a run of problems.

Mac reminds Harm (when he brings up the last submarine experience) that she "is not Lt Austin" (Meg suffered claustrophobia). Mac is the only woman among 130+ male sailors - which is handled fairly realistically. There are, of course, a few contrived set-pieces along the way.

Eventually Harm and Mac identify the baddie - and work together to bring him down. As they leave the boat, the Skipper compliments them on how well they work together.

So, peace and harmony are restored to the Rabb-Mackenzie working relationship as we move into the final third of Season Four.

A Master class into how to turn a 22 minute episode into a 44 minute one.

SO much filler in this episode. Entire scenes where little or nothing was happening ... just filler.

A good editor could have trimmed this episode down from the 44+ minutes it was, down to 22 minutes.

Makes me glad I watched this series offline, so I could fast forward through the scenes where nothing was really happening. A HUGE time saver. That way, you can watch TWO episodes in the time frame that one would normally watch only one.

Without giving anything away, the scenes that led about to capturing the bad guy just dragged on and on. Once we knew what he was up to, there was no real point in demonstrating it repeatedly.

While Harm converses privately with the XO in the wardroom, Harm flops down in the captain's chair, at the head of the table. Nobody but the skipper sits in the captain's chair. In the real world of the US Navy, the XO would have politely asked Harm to take another seat.

[Harm has been talking to Bud, and is unaware that Chegwidden has picked up the phone]

Lt. Cmdr. Harmon 'Harm' Rabb, Jr.: Hey, Bud. If the Admiral asks, be sure to tell him...

Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: ...Everything he wants to know!

Lt. Cmdr. Harmon 'Harm' Rabb, Jr.: [embarrassed] Aye, aye, sir.
