At the end of the Joke Wall sequence in this episode, Dan Rowan tells Pamela Rodgers the beginning of a joke ("Pam, what would you do if you were on an airplane, and the wings caught fire, the engines fell off, and it started losing altitude very rapidly?"), and quickly added, "And watch your language." This was because, in the first take (seen in blooper reels, and also in censored form in the 1993 special, Laugh-in Past Christmas Present (1993)), Pam casually answered, "Listen, I'd just shit!" With that, she effectively brought down the house, explaining why Dan was barely able to control his laughter right before telling the joke in the final take (in which Pam correctly answered, "Well, I would sure get right off!").
