Monte Markham in The Six Million Dollar Man (1974)

Trivia

The Seven Million Dollar Man

The Six Million Dollar Man

Edit
Monte Markham was Martin Caidin's first choice to play Steve Austin
First time that the characteristic bionic sound is heard when Steve breaks down the vault door.
This aired on ABC in November of 1974. The seven million dollar man is named Barney Miller. In January of 1975, ABC aired a new sitcom called Barney Miller set in a New York City Police Department police station on East 6th St in Greenwich Village. As a result, the bionic character Barney Miller on this show experienced a name change to Barney Hiller in a sequel episode.
Steve's normal off duty car is a Chevrolet Corvette C3, an accurate car for an ex-Apollo astronaut as they were provided for free to them by the company as a publicity stunt.
One of the earliest uses of the term "Gaslighting" used by Steve Auston to describe being lied to by multiple characters in this episode. This term became very prevalent after 2010.
