Paul Scheer was originally cast as Lieutenant Buttocks but was replaced during filming after filming some of his scenes and recast as Lieutenant Kneecap. However, the majority of his role was deleted from the final cut.
During an interview, Scott Caan teased for "Meet Dave 2", but, due to the movie bombing at the box office, a sequel didn't happen.
