The script for the eighth episode, titled "Every Picture Tells a Story" was written, but never filmed, because of the cancellation.
While this series was cancelled, it seems to have been reborn overseas as Stellan Skarsgård's River (2015).
Luis Guzmán originally had the role of Charlie Lincoln, but after the pilot was shot, he was replaced by Malik Yoba. NBC then asked that the producers re-shoot the scenes in which he appeared.
Mykelti Williamson appeared in the pilot episode in a cameo role as Detective Bobby "Fearless" Smith, a role he originated on Boomtown (2002). Like Raines, Boomtown was created by Graham Yost, and was set in Los Angeles.
