Trivia

Frontier(s)

Edit
Banned in Thailand for its violence.
The film was intended to be one of the 8 films to die for as part of 2007's Horrofest but had to be pulled as it was given an NC-17 rating by the MPAA.
(at around 1h 00 mins) After Von Geisler uses the pliers on the back of Alex's leg, he laughs and uses the phrase "Arbeit macht frei." This phrase, loosely translated as "work makes you free," is the infamous motto that was posted at the front of Nazi concentration camps during the Second World War, and still hangs on the Auschwitz concentration camp museum entrance today.
The tune that Von Geisler is heard whistling is "Lili Marlene," a popular song in World War II Germany.
When Von Geisler presides over the family dinner, he says "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" - My Honor is Loyalty - the motto of the Nazi SS. He then says "so waren wir doch Helden" - we were yet heroes.
