Nanna's Cottage

This show is awesome. My 3 year old son loves it. Its very educational and the music is great too. I highly recommend it to everyone. The characters are all really fun and the use of puppets and people gives the show a great blend and diversity.

My wife and I are comfortable that the content is appropriate and that our son will gain knowledge and creativity from watching. For example one of the episodes teaches the kids manners and what manners are. This has created some great dialogue amongst our family and helps us teach him life lessons. Our 4 and 6 year old nephews love the show as well. They ask their mom when it will be on every day.

Good intentions aside, this show is awful. It is poorly written, poorly acted and just lazy. They think just because it is for kids - we don't even have to try - just put some crap together from other kid shows and give a good moral and ta-da - a kid's show. Well, you learn to appreciate Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers and even , Barney for goodness sake when you see this train wreck. Shoddy everything - the Nana does the WORST Irish accent you have ever heard - if you cant do one, don't do one. She doesn't HAVE to be Irish. There are good kid actors and bad kid actors in the business - these are bad ones. They do everything but look into the camera. The puppets look like they were made in a moving car ten minutes before the show. You can even see the guy's arm working the puppets. There's a big guy in a big dog suit with a tongue permanently hanging out. He dances a little. That's it. That's all this is - a little. It actually is SO bad it becomes funny -so you can always check it out for laughs.

What a mean person, this shark fella who scribbled the previous 'review', must be to write such things. This is a show for children, not for a self important blow-hard who just wishes to hurt feelings. I know that everyone on that show deserves much more than this man's negative blather. The age range for this show is 2 to 8 years. Makes one wonder why a grown man would take so much time to slam a kids' show unless he had some ulterior motive or ax to grind. Anyway, watch the show and see it for what it is... A fun little half-hour for the little ones. Oh, and Nanna isn't Irish. She's from the north of England and her accent is perfect. Maybe if the Shark guy had watched Nanna as a kid he'd be a little nicer. :-)
