The crew of this film kept running into the crew from Rush Hour 3 (2007). In one instance, while director Shaad Ali was shooting a sequence, a stunt car from Rush Hour 3 entered the camera's frame and the shot had to be retaken. Later, when Abhishek Bachchan and Lara Dutta were shooting the song 'Ticket To Hollywood' at Place de la Concorde, 'Jackie Chan' could not resist dropped by on the movie's sets to see the shooting. Jackie loved the song, and even though JBJ and Rush Hour 3 were being shot in same locations, the shooting units of the two films co-operated with each other.
The ring-tone in Abhishek's mobile 'Aye Handsome' is voice of his newly wedded wife and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. A previous nod to their relationship was in Dhoom 2 when they both rid the same motorbike model despite being paired off with different people in that movie, but were dating at the time.
Vidya Balan signed on for the role of Anaida Raza (Lara Dutta). After finding out the script required her to dance, she dropped out.
Vaibhavi Merchant (choreographer) reprises her famous "Kajra re" step from Shaad and Abhishek's previous Bunty aur Babli in the song "Ticket to Hollywood"
Bobby and Abhisheik being the sons of Dharmendra and Amitabh respectively, are aptly given a shot where they replay the famous "Yeh Dosti" song as a tribute to Sholay.
