    what's this

I knew most of horror buffs didn't like this flick. When it came out in 2007 newspapers stated it as the first Belgian vampire flick directed by R. Kan Albay known for his role in the series Emma. Buffs all around the world didn't agree with this, Daughters Of Darkness (1971) was the first one coming from Belgium but I'm bugging you all with this.

To be honest, this flick doesn't offer a thing to the genre. We follow people nowadays and have flashbacks without any explanation or whatsoever. The effects are laughable and some are done with blurry effects or cheap CGI (the cross on the hand). What it do has is a bit of nudity here and there but that doesn't lift this flick to a classic. Poor acting from everybody (even well known names nowadays). Badly shot. TO say the least, this s*cks.

But at this writing it's an OOP disc so you will have to search on flea markets to lay your hand on the Flemish vampire.

    Very disappointed

When I saw this movie standing in the shop. I thought it would be great. I absolutely love vampire stories! At the start of the movie, I was full expectations. I love the intro, and the beginning was quit fine. Later on in the story, they start to mix present and past through each other, but there isn't any link. You don't get why they keep changing from time zone. The storyline is too complicated for a simple horror movie. If you read the back of the box, it reads a simple story, but in the end, the story on the box doesn't tell the story the movie really has. You don't see any connection between the things from the past they show you and the things that happen in the present story. For me this film was total rubbish!!! The actors on this movie were very bad, and non convincing. So they couldn't hold this terrible story up by their performance! The shot's that are taken are mostly too dark, and framed incorrectly. Also the director tense to switch shot's very often, sometimes a shot is only 1 second, so you can't really focus on what he wants to show you. He does this often, and at times I think it's important that you have to have a bit of time to take everything in. His character's were very unconvincing. When I watch vampire or other fantasy stories I like to have the idea that what I just saw, really could have happened, that vampires really live amongst us. The director didn't succeed in this.

To sum up: It was a total waste of money.
