The character Abby only appears in the show and not in the film, but she bears a striking resemblance to Daisy, who appears in the film but not the show. Daisy is never even mentioned in the show, but the death of Otis' father Ben is mentioned. Therefore, the show takes place after the events of the film.
Rob Paulsen and Jeff Garcia, who voiced Peck the rooster and Pip the mouse, also voiced Carl Wheezer and Sheen Estevez on Jimmy Neutron.
Dom Irerra, Tino Insana, Jeffrey Garcia, Cam Clarke, Rob Paulsen and Wanda Sykes reprise their roles from Barnyard (2006), but Kevin James was replaced with Chris Hardwick as Otis the Cow and Andie MacDowell was replaced with Leigh-Allyn Baker as Etta the Hen.
Season 3 was planned to happen, but was ultimately scrapped after the episode, "Aliens!!!", in favor of "Planet Sheen".
