I expect much better from director Jim Powers, still going strong two decades after making this desultory entry in the Buck Adams' hit porn series. It sets up an okay situation, has attractive location photography, but amounts to very little.
Alec Metro brusquely storms into the sleepy Pirates Cove baywatch station, taking over and imposing draconian new duties, as the lifeguards are now going to have to spend their time training new recruits to the sun & sand vocation.
This upsets Asia Carrera's applecart, exacerbated by Mero bringing her lover Steven St. Croix on staff, threatening their romantic relationship. George Kaplan's script is successful at setting up this basic conflict, but then the show goes off the rails, dominated by an unconvinclng and very poorly resolved conflict between idle rich guys Billy Glide and Brick Majors. Lousy ending is in the "to be continued...." vein, leaving everything hanging for resoultion in Episode 14.
Some sexy talent makes this palatable, not just Asia but busty Kylie Ireland and the always reliable Keri Windsor. Too bad the storytelling was bungled.
