Mariana Derderián in Floribella (2006)

Trivia

Floribella

Edit
Mariana Derderián found difficulties in singing. "I can't sing but I took classes before recording the whole soundtrack. But at one point I just couldn't reach any notes so they had an additional voice featured to work things out. On stage, I would pretend to sing with all my power, but muted [laughs]".
One of the themes is titled "Los Niños no Mueren" ("Children Don't Die"). Sadly, star Mariana Derderián lost her 6-year-old son Pedro in a fire in May 2024.
TVN canceled a different series and ordered its writers this Floricienta (2004) remake instead. Pablo Illanes reportedly thought the original Argentine scripts were "horrible", being filled with "unforgivable" spelling errors. "Going through those lines was depressing, for real. They also had that thing from Argentine dramas, with characters coming and leaving all the time. It was a nightmare to adapt them."
Legal restrictions prevented this production from being titled "Floricienta". Thus, this is the only Spanish-language Floricienta (2004) remake (not counting Lola: Érase una vez (2007)) to not share its title with the original series. It rather has the same title from the Brazilian and Portuguese adaptations.
The flowery imagery from the original series is replaced with a pumpkin and other visual references, coming much closer to the original Cinderella fairy tale.
